The Master

Hello! My name is the Reverend Sharon Greensmith, Master of St John’s Lichfield. As part of my role here I am responsible for the nurture and spiritual well-being of the residents and staff of St John’s without the Barrs and St John’s within the Close. I also have priestly responsibility for all worshippers who attend St John’s Chapel, whether residents, staff, trustees or members of the public.

The Chapel is open to the public and I would like to invite you to come and join us in prayer and public worship. The tradition of St John’s Chapel is one of central liberal Anglo-Catholic, whose liturgy is governed by the Church of England’s Canon Law and doctrine.  You can find details of our regular worship times here.

Come and see the wonderful interior of the Chapel that includes a shrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the north aisle in the style of Italian ceramicist Luca della Robbia, 14 Stations of the Cross, a fine organ designed in 1972 by Hill, Norman and Beard, and most notably the stained glass East Window which was the last major undertaking of John Piper. There are many other features in and around the Chapel to enjoy. So come along to see and experience for yourself the tranquillity of this beautiful place.
